SIL succumbs to the cancer :(
by LovesDubs ini wanted to thank all of you who sent prayers and warm thoughts and healing vibes in the direction of my sister in law in california who found out in november that she had pancreatic cancer at age 44. she managed to get five more months before she could fight no more.
my father called yesterday to tell me that despite everyone's best efforts, that she has only a couple days at most to live and that her organs are shutting down.
they are trying to keep her as comfortable as possible and she is surrounded by her family and has a strong faith as a mormon that this isnt the end for her.

scriptural reasoning on shunning
by BlackSwan of Memphis ini was just browsing through my new cdrom and researching a few topics to share with some friends.. i found regarding disassociation and i seem to recall that when i called the 800 hotline for people questioning i got some great literature regarding how the scriptures applied are taken out of their context.. however, i no longer have this and am wondering if anyone has a link for this info or better yet can post it here.
.
it would just be nice to be able to show the contrast between how the jw's apply these verses and how they were meant to be taken.. thanks .

Don't you want to head your own cult?
by daystar ini know this has been posted here before, but it's a classic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnnse5xyp6e.
they seem to subtly, or perhaps not so subtly, refer to a number of cults in this video.

Have some class and talk about something more intelligent
I'm all for intelligent conversation, but sometimes life just calls for potty humor

Hey there all.
A friend of mine that I met through Juniper's preschool (another mom) has included me in on an email recipe exchange.
I thought that I would extend the invitation to you all. I have a few that I had invited but cannot do it.
So far I myself have gotten a few great recipes.
Basically the way it works is this.
I send you the invite. On the invite are two names at the top. Mine plus another person.
You send the other person an email with a recipe and then after removing the other person's name, move my name to the top of that list and add yours.
Then you send out that invite to 10 other people.
If anyone is interested in doing this send me a pm.
